Dr Debra Hancock (B.Pharm PhD MPS AACP JP)

Debra grew up in country Victoria on a farm near Leitchville; 30min from Echuca. She completed her Pharmacy degree (B.Pharm) in Melbourne @ Victorian Pharmacy College (Monash University) in 1988. Debra completed a course on Pharmacy management conducted by the Holmesglen College for the Australian Institute of pharmacy Management Ltd in 1989 and went on to manage a Pharmacy in Caulfield, Melbourne for 12months.

 

Debra then set off backpacking through Asia, Europe and Africa for 12months. For the next 2 yrs Debra worked as a Locum Pharmacist throughout the UK; London, Devon, Isle of White and Jersey in the Chanel Islands (learned to scuba dive). On her way home she met her husband John (a Kiwi) in Africa on Safari.

 

Debra completed a PhD in Pharmacology @ Victorian Pharmacy College (Monash University) in Melbourne in 1996; under the supervision of Dr. I.M. Coupar. Debra went on to do her Post Doc at the University of Melbourne in the Digestive Physiology and Nutrition Laboratory with Professor John Furness. Debra has published numerous papers, which can be found in the British Journal of Pharmacology, Journal of Pharmacy & Pharmacology, Journal of Autonomic Pharmacology and General Pharmacology.

 

In 1997, Debra & John had their first child, Giles and purchased their first Pharmacy in South Grafton, NSW. Debra later went onto to get her pilots license whilst living in South Grafton. She was then grounded when their daughter Meg Amelia was born in 1999. Debra has not flown since; responsibility of 2 children. Now that they are young adults; Debra may fly again.

 

Debra became a Consultant Pharmacist with the Australian Association of Consultant Pharmacists in 2001. John & Debra purchased the Coraki Pharmacy and opened the Moonee Beach Pharmacy in 2005. They sold the Coraki Pharmacy in 2007 and sold the Pharmacy in South Grafton in 2016.

 

Debra is a keen triathlete, tennis player and golfer. She is learning the piano despite not having any rhythm, timing, fine motor skills and she can quit any time she likes according to her poor suffering music teacher.

Chengjie

Chengjie came to Australia at the age of 17 and finished her HSC at Gosford, NSW. She obtained her Bachelor of Pharmacy degree at University of Sydney in 2008 with honours in pharmacology.


She completed her internship in Sydney and became a pharmacist in 2009. She has worked at various pharmacies in Sydney, Wollongong and Shellharbour and was a pharmacist manager before leaving Sydney.


Chengjie moved to Coffs Harbour in 2018 with her husband and has worked at a number of pharmacies in the area. She joined Debra’s amazing team shortly after her arrival at Coffs Harbour in 2018 and has been part of the furniture ever since.



Chengjie speaks English, Mandarin and her Shanghainese dialect. Her current main hobby is playing board games with friends and laughing at each other’s failures. 

 

Glynis

Glynis was born in Canberra, and was educated in Canungra, Murwillumbah, Beaudesert (her dad was in the army). She has 2 children.


Glynis has been in pharmacy on and off for over 22yrs. She has held management positions but prefers to be in the dispensary assisting the pharmacist.


Glynis has been at Moonee Beach Pharmacy for 3yrs as a pharmacy technician; managing the dispensary. She must be doing something right; she is always receiving chocolates, flowers and cake from grateful and happy customers.


Glynis is also an active patrolling surf life saver and qualified Bronze medallion trainer/assessor for Woolgoolga Surf Club. 


Glynis has a thirst for learning which is commendable.

Dianne

Dianne was born and educated in South Grafton; where she raised 3 successful children. Mum is proud of her children “they are such beautiful human beings”. She now happily resides in Woolgoolga.


Originally Dianne was working as a high needs support teacher’s aid for 15 yrs. In that time she also worked for CHEGS as a fitness instructor, working with the community in health programmes, assisting the elderly with gentle exercises and Tia Chi for Arthritis and for patients recovering from heart surgery.



Dianne started working with Debra and John in South Grafton in 2013 as a Sleep Technician and joined their team at Moonee Beach in 2018. Dianne continues to work as a Sleep Technician but also has the added responsibility of maintaining the stores accreditation, stock control and working as a Pharmacy assistant.

Kate

Kate was born and educated on the Coffs Coast and married her high school sweet heart. She has lived most of her life in the area. Kate is a nurturing soul; she has 2 children and 28 chickens. We are never short of eggs!!!!



Kate has been in pharmacy for 26yrs; looking at her she doesn’t look that old. Fortunately she has spent the last 9 years at Moonee Beach Pharmacy. Her main role is Medication Management (Webster Packs). Kate also assists in the dispensary and front of shop when needed. 

PJ

PJ has been working in the Coffs Harbour area since 2009 after completing his pharmacy degree at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga.  He has also been an accredited consultant pharmacist since 2017.


In his downtime PJ enjoys mountain biking, football, golf and home brewing.

Barinder

Barinder was born in Punjab, India where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts from Guru Nanak Dev University and completed first year Nursing and Midwifery at Baba Farid University Jalandhar Punjab. In 2007, she married and moved to Australia and worked with OZ group until she got blessed with twins. In 2022, Barinder completed her certificate 3 in Community Pharmacy assistant at Tafe Coffs Harbour and commenced working at Moonee Beach Pharmacy.


Barinder also enjoys managing their blueberry and raspberry farms with her husband and twins. In her spare time, she loves to shop and cook.

Michelle

Michelle was born and raised in Coffs Harbour. She has lived here all her life except for 9 years when she resided in Port Headland, WA.


Michelle has been bookkeeping for over 20yrs and lives in Moonee Beach with her husband and 2 children.



Michelle is new to the team and has the enormous task of assisting John.

Tayla

Tayla is a genuine Coffs Harbour local. She was born and educated in the area and completed her HSC at Orara High School. She loves to explore the area, having moved house 12 times !!!


Tayla has been in the Pharmacy industry for almost 3 years.  She has a certificate 3 in Community Pharmacy. At Moonee Beach Pharmacy, Tayla helps customers with their general health needs and assists the Pharmacists in the dispensary.



Tayla enjoys travelling with her family, visiting New Caledonia, Vanuatu, New Zealand and Singapore. She is very passionate about her future travels.  Her and her partner have 5 birds; these feathered friends are considered their babies and are always taken everywhere they go.


Nell

Nell was born in Sydney and the family moved to Coffs Harbour when Nell was in preschool. She has lived in the area most of her life except for an exciting and memorable time living in Madrid, Spain for 4 years.


Nell has been working in the Pharmacy industry for the last 4 yrs. She has a certificate 3 in Community Pharmacy.  At Moonee Beach Pharmacy, Nell works in the dispensary assisting the pharmacist and is involved in medication management and packing. You can often find her on the floor helping customers and is always open to learning.



Nell is a very proud mother of two children and is a kind and caring person who always tries to make you laugh. She is a nature lover and enjoys walks on the beach, splashing about, finding new trails and relaxing with a good book. Her ambition is to be a Flamenco dancer.
