Obstructive Sleep Apnoea

Sleep Apnoea is a Sleep Disordered Breathing problem that affects your sleep, health and quality of life.

Approximately 1 in 4 adults have sleep disordered breathing, and up to 80% of these are unaware of their condition and remain undiagnosed and untreated.

Research shows that snoring and Sleep Apnoea are associated with many serious conditions. Left untreated, they are contributing risk factors in high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, diabetes and depression.

Sleep Apnoea may also increase the likelihood of having motor vehicle accidents.

Modern treatment options are available for people with this condition, which do not involve drugs or surgery.

Successful therapy means sleeping better and getting more enjoyment from your waking hours, and it may also mean resolving other symptoms associated with Sleep Apnoea.

Successful treated individuals report feeling improvements in:

Vitality and motivation.

Job performance

Mood

Sexual drive and performance

Alertness whilst driving

Quality of life.

Simply come in and talk to one of our consultants who will get you to answer 2 questionnaires to assess your risk, which you can then discuss with your doctor. If you doctor feels that it’s warranted, they will provide you with a referral for a sleep test which is bulk billed through Medicare.

Once you have that referral simply bring it into us and we will take it from there and organise a sleep study that is performed in your own bed with one of our portable devices. The data from this device is viewed by an independent specialist Sleep Physician who will forward on his recommendations.
